Eating Disorders and Substance Abuse Treatment

New Hope’s treatment methods

Many primary treatment centers for alcoholism or substance abuse have found that many of their patients through treatment begin to exhibit eating disorders such as
anorexia, compulsive eating, bulimia or a combination of the three. Often these eating disorders increase once the drinking or drug use is stopped upon entering their
treatment center or drug rehab. Often the eating disorder is not addressed at all or is referred out to a treatment that contradicts a 12 step spiritual recovery. At
New Hope Recovery Center we have found that the best outcome for these patients is to treat both the eating disorder and substance abuse at the same time within a 12
step model of treatment that treats both the eating disorder and substance abuse as an addiction. We utilize Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous and Overeaters
Anonymous to address these within a 12 step spiritually based recovery structure.

At New Hope Recovery Center we provide the following modalities of treatment:

  1. Residential Day Treatment
  2. Extended Care Supportive Living

Some patients are enrolled first into Residential Day Treatment, followed by Extended Care Supportive Living. Other patients who have already been in primary treatment
are referred to us for continuing their recovery in Extended Care.
